Sustainable Farming

Since 2014 the farming system in NK has changed – when the central gov’t  could not successfully feed all of its people, it has given more freedom to the lowest level of its gov’t  to deal with their own food shortages situation

This situation has created an opportunity for field workers to engage with  local gov’t personnel to come up with a means to help and sustain its farming to yield higher productivity. The Goal is to produce sufficient amounts of food to feed the poorest in NK – farmers.

Since 2016 we have supported 3 different collective farms in North East side of NK, where there are 13 collective farms. Last 3 years we have been supporting a farming village with approximately 2000 people. With our natural farming technique, the farm was able to double the yield rate. And in 2019, this farm produced the highest production rate among 13 farms. As a result, we are gaining a lot of favor, trust and respect from the farm and also local government. We anticipate as the time pass, we will get more meaningful and deeper relationship with local farmers and village people, and villagers will recognize there are people outside of NK care and love for them.

Adopting a farming village is a Community Development process, where eventually we envision
people in community  working together and caring for each other and  moving towards to a better future

When basic needs of all people within the community can be met, we can holistically develop deeper relationship with the people in the community.

Our endeavor will empower the people to achieve their God-given potential within their environment. By empowering the the people in community to envision, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate this community development process and it should lead to…taking more ownership and sustainability and could bring about Community Transformation.

Ownership & Sustainability should lead to developing greater community cohesiveness, unity and hope for the future and when more sustainable interdependent communities can be developed via this  grass-roots  movement, we can become a greater Christian Witness  to the people of NK and love them.
